I welcome you to the website of St. James’ Episcopal Church.  I also invite you to join us in worship and to experience the love in this church family.  I hope you would even consider making St. James’ your spiritual home. 

Our worship is what one might call eclectic.  We have people here from a wide variety of backgrounds - and we all come here to worship God in one spirit.  We have catholic ceremonial, Gospel preaching, and we are open to the activity of the Holy Spirit within our worship and in our lives.  Some people are inward and personal - others are outward and demonstrative.  There is no sense that everybody and everything has to be one way.  The important thing is that there is a unified sense of worship.

Because we place the Lordship of Jesus at the center of everything we do, there is a sense of joy and delight in the satisfaction of knowing we are doing God’s will and are being used for God’s purposes.  There is a positive attitude in our ministries because of the knowledge of who it is we are serving.  At St. James’ we don’t take ourselves seriously but we take God very seriously.

Sometimes people are surprised to learn that we don’t spend our time taking stands on political or social issues.  Rather, we take our stand on a rock, and that rock is Jesus Christ.  We give him our voices to proclaim his glory, our minds to ponder the salvation he brings, and our hearts to share his love.   

One does not need to have been here for many years to make a difference.  My hope and desire for this place is that all those who gather here day by day and week by week will know that the Lord has given all of us gifts and talents for doing his work.  If being a part of this kind of community appeals to you and if I can be of help to you I would be glad to meet with you.
